Enjoying a healthy life, for active people, means doing some kind of recreational physical activity regularly and having a balanced eating pattern. Physical exercise is useful to improve quality of life and the feeling of physical and psychological welfare.

If our diet is properly balanced we will have the necessary nutrients for the correct upkeep of the body functions and to be able to maintain our daily activities. A diet is balanced when it provides not only all the necessary nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, vitamins and minerals) but also the correct proportion.

Although it is easy to obtain all the necessary nutrients with the diet, when we are more stressed when we are in a period where we make a bigger effort than usual, our body has higher requirements of energy and nutrients. In this moment, it can be helpful to use specific food supplements, to fight against fatigue and exhaustion. Despite the fact that minerals are not as well known as proteins, lipids or carbohydrates, they are as important as these. Minerals are necessary for the cellular metabolism, for the structure and strength of the skeleton, to control galvanic activity of nerves and muscles, etc. It is easy to obtain the optimum level of nutrients that our body needs if our diet is varied and balanced, but some situations can lead us to deficiencies of some nutrients. This can happen due to stress, physical or psychological overload, diets, bad dietary habits, illnesses and so on. The lack of minerals can produce a wide range of general, unspecific but important symptoms such as lack of concentration, discomfort, fatigue and weakness, depending on which minerals we are lacking and the severity of this shortage.
