Routine, stress, lack of hopes, everyday life can sometimes produce stress on us and make us feel tired and extenuated. We can notice this state of mind in ourselves or in our relatives and friends, producing discomfort, fatigue, lack of concentration and annoyance.

When we are going through a stressful period it is very usual that we forget about the correct dietary guidelines that keep us healthy. This is a mistake, because stress makes our body consume more energy and nutrients and in these situations we should be particularly aware of our diet. It is important to include enough carbohydrates in our diet, which provide energy to our body, and to consume enough vitamins and minerals, which control a large number of body processes involved in energy metabolism and maintenance of a healthy state.

In our body, minerals are involved in an immense variety of metabolic processes: production of energy and essentially compounds, nerve and muscle transmission of impulses, regulation and control processes. Besides that, minerals have a structural function: they are part of the bones, teeth, muscles, blood… They are involved in an immense variety of different functions in our body. Thus, a lack of minerals causes very different and unspecific symptoms, that sometimes makes it difficult to detect a lack of minerals.
